In the second installment of Sex Factor International by Steve Earle, we find Rosco Angelo, head of the Zeta Drug Cartel, demanding his $100 million dollar payment from hotel owner Chico Sanchez for delivery of cocaine and heroin. Chico not only has the inconvenience of Rosco's threats but also the knowledge that the FBI has just taken control of his ship and found the hidden consignment of drugs. Chico has no intention of paying for drugs that are now in the hands of the FBI. But who tipped off the police? Chico becomes more and more suspicious of those close to him. As he faces financial ruin, a deadly series of events sees Sofia taking control of the entire empire. She is determined to eliminate the corruption, drugs, and prostitution problems of the casino and hotel and somehow make them legally operational. As the situation at the hotel seems to be resolved, illegal drugs and counterfeit cash are discovered, and little by little the future of the hotel and casino seems doomed.

Sex Factor International Book 2 by Steve Earle is such a riveting story in every sense of the word. The characters are many but they are introduced gradually with great references to their personality traits which allows you to follow the plot with absolute enjoyment. Their dialogue is sharp and flows beautifully. What I admired most about this novel was that the author has somehow managed to create such interesting sub-plots that complement the main storyline perfectly. I loved the character of Sophie most of all; she was fearless, intelligent, and dynamic but you also see her softer side in some scenes. Her relationship with Darren was spot on, they were a strong duo and a force to be reckoned with. The twists and turns are stunning so be prepared for a surprise around every corner. This is definitely an exciting rollercoaster of a read, with continuous obstacles to be resolved. The corruption, betrayals, and self-preservation of many of the characters make it impossible to trust any of their motives. It also highlights the darker side of society, where murder, prostitution, gambling, profiteering, and drugs are interlinked. An absolutely compelling read.
