If you’re looking for a spellbinding new paranormal adventure, then look no further than Shine: The Knowing Ones by Amy Freeman. Protagonist Sam Shields is a college dance student who is just starting out in life, but her first year’s studies are already fraught with danger. After experiencing a lifelike vision of a deadly assassin coming after her, Sam is drawn to the bright aura of Trin Kosolov, a handsome Olympic swimmer who knows more about Sam than she’d like him to. Sam tries to deny an instant connection between herself and Trin, but as the secrets about her paranormal abilities and Trin’s past unfold, she begins to realise than an inescapable adventure awaits her.
Shine: The Knowing Ones has something for everybody in its vast and vivid array of action, romance, paranormal stunts and lavish locations. This novel transcends the genre of New Adult, taking the college-girl character type to a whole new level of depth, danger and drama in the form of Sam Shields. Trin is a delight for fans of the athletic, muscle-bound lead male, but he is also a rich and sometimes dark character who will fascinate readers on more than just a looks level. Author Amy Freeman delivers a detailed plot with enviable writing talent, making readers feel as though they are present in the moment of the story. Shine is an exciting read from start to finish with a well-conceived storyline that is hard to guess at and very satisfying in its conclusion. A superb novel with plenty to offer.
