For Troy Tandem, things have just taken a very strange turn. First of all, he wakes up on the beach of a small Island with no memory of how he got there. His last memory was that he was trying to help a young lady from a gang of thugs. He was sure he would be beaten to death. A bag filled with weapons and equipment is attached to his leg, weapons to be used by a Ninja. As his time on the island passes, he makes several discoveries about himself, his new self that is. Although he is forty some, his body now has the look and feel of a teenager. His vision is remarkable, and he learns he can now travel through water without a ship. These are just a few of his fantastic discoveries. After some time he plans his escape off the island and returns home. His love for his wife Tori keeps him going. During his journey he discovers even more abilities, abilities that make him invincible.

This book is listed as fantasy; however, I would classify it as science fiction-adventure. The story starts off well using current time and flashbacks to set the plot into motion. The characterization is good, giving the reader just enough to quickly associate with the protagonist and supporting cast. There are some editing issues in the beginning with the author using two different voices on occasion but not enough to take away from the plot. The main character’s journey from his island to home is also a little long. Though the end is a touch predictable, it does leave the reader with expectations of a sequel or two. Well done.
