It has been said that music is an international language. Every culture has music. As far as I know, every culture sings to its babies. More often than not, the mother sings softly to their children. This time of singing a child to sleep, or singing away a child’s fear, is a bonding time. Singing to and with your child will build a connection of unconditional love that will last a lifetime. Anne Delgado understands the importance of singing and shares the intercultural appeal in Sing, Mama, Sing. Children will enjoy reading the melodic rhymes. In addition, the illustrations will help the reader understand the universality of music. Finally, Anne presents singing to the child sweetly and tenderly. Music tends to lift the spirit and encourage the soul.

A mother’s relationship with her children is evident in many situations. From gazing lovingly at the child to gently rocking the child to sleep, a mother seals it all with music. Interacting with a child includes speaking and comforting with a gentle pat. Sharing laughter is one of the most crucial bonding activities between a mother and child. The other side of laughing with a child is holding a child and sharing a sigh. It is also good to snuggle with your children. Touching and snuggling are healing. Spend time with your child in physical activities, but don’t forget the importance of reading together. Remember, any time you spend with your child is time well spent. It is never wasted time. Read Sing, Mama, Sing by Anne Delgado to and with your children, and you will have a wonderful time.
