Author Biography

Born the younger of two siblings, I found a love for writing poetry in junior high school. I grew fond of the writings of Edgar Allan Poe, not for the darkness that his writings foretold, but for the use of his play of words and creative descriptions.

Having a strong Christian foundation, I participated in various church organizations on local, state, and national levels.

At the age of 19, I married Minister (now Ordained Elder and Artist) William Fredrick Withers, II and together we are the parents of sons, Samuel-Hakeem and William Withers.

Becoming a licensed preacher of the Gospel in 2002, I have accompanied my husband in assisting church ministries in ministerial leadership, praise and worship, and church administration.

For the past 15 years, I have worked as a legal assistant where I daily interact with court officials, law enforcement, and various other professionals. This experience has presented me with many opportunities to witness and exemplify God’s love and compassion to those feeling discouraged and fearful.

Utilizing the gift of writing and ministry and through the publications of Tate Publishing, I have been able to spread the joy and knowledge of Christian views while engaging the imagination, development, and inspirations of families worldwide. Since the release of my first children’s book (February 18, 2014), I have been featured on Blog Internet and Radio Shows, been guest speakers of local youth organizations, received the Amazon seal of one of best children’s books for 2014 and become a part of Amazon Author Central and Goodreads.

Sister 2 Sister Princess Diaries: Sister Won’t Help by Wendy Marie Withers is a delightful children’s picture book. In this adorable book, Dad reads his two daughters, Aiyana and Dakota, the Bible story of Martha and Mary. The bedtime story closely mirrors the dilemma that Aiyana and Dakota struggle with in that Dakota has not offered to help Aiyana prepare for an upcoming tea party. Aiyana falls asleep in her daddy’s loving arms and her dream takes her back in time to meet Jesus. Jesus talks with Aiyana and encourages her not to be upset with her sister. In the end, Aiyana and her sister are able to work together to prepare for a tea party that is enjoyed by all.

This is a beautiful story. It is filled with vibrant and colorful pictures. The story is expertly written. The characters are believable. The dialogue is engaging. The moral to the story is simple, yet timeless and inspiring. This book will captivate and instruct young readers in good virtues while educating them on the Bible. As a reader, this book reminded me of my own childhood. I loved everything about this book. The author has done an excellent job in telling a story that will capture the attention of young readers. The pictures are beautiful and well crafted. This vibrant picture book is sure to become a favorite among children. I highly recommend Sister 2 Sister Princess Diaries: Sister Won’t Help to be read by children and parents alike.
