Author Biography

The "Songs of the Deliverer" books are dedicated to helping children, teens, and young adults to learn the story of Christian faith. Society is becoming more and more secular and young people have a difficult time even talking about religion without being chastised. The percentage of the younger generation who believe in Christianity is declining precipitously. If that continues, who will teach the coming generations about God? These books are written so that the reader, young or old, can learn more of Christ. And teach others the story of salvation.

Glory Born by Elvo Fortunato Bucci is the third novel in the Songs of the Deliverer series. I remember reading the first novel in the series and being enthralled with the writing style of the author. This novel serves as a prequel to the series. The novel follows the story in which a journal written by an old man was lost for half a century, and it is found by one of the followers. In the journal, the old man tells how he finds an orphaned girl.

She has a gift and, when she befriends the old man, they both realize that they have a higher purpose in life. These two people, from two very different walks of life, come together and realize that they have work to do. If they succeed, they will be able to change the world and bring blessings to everyone. Their hearts belong to the Savior and their guide is the Old Testament; however, even then their mission is fraught with peril. If they are not careful, they can even lose their lives. But if they succeed, the Deliverer will come!

Enchanting and magical, Songs of the Deliverer III: Glory Born is a very well-developed novel that takes the reader on a journey of discovery. I was taken on a spiritual journey that made me think deeply and dig deeper inside myself to understand what I am looking for. I enjoyed the way the two main leads took everything head on and fought together as a team. We get to see the story before the Deliverer arrives and we get to understand the condition of society before his arrival. It was a riveting story, one that had my attention from the get go!

Songs of the Deliverer III: Glory Born by Elvo Fortunato Bucci bridges the past with the present in a modern interpretation of the birth of the Savior. The apostles are writing the story of the life, death and resurrection of Emmanuel. However, no one knows about his birth. Dr. Lucas receives a letter from a woman named Azalea. Along with the letter is a journal written by her father, Simeon. Simeon’s journal chronicles the story of a little orphan girl named Anna and how she changed his life. He was an old weary man, a reluctant teacher; however, Anna was an eager student. Out of her mouth flowed great insight and prophetic revelation. Two thousand years after Jesus was tragically killed, God sends a gift, a deliverer. His name is Emmanuel. Simeon and Anna are eye witnesses of the night when glory was born.

Glory Born is the third book in Elvo Fortunato Bucci’s Songs of the Deliverer series. The narrative is based on the biblical account written in the second chapter of the Gospel of Luke. Bucci pens a modern day story about the lives of Simeon and Anna, portraying depth, scope and sequence in their contemporary characters. The bond of friendship between the old teacher and young student is endearing. As their characters develop, the theme of the narrative becomes very clear – God has a plan for your life. The narrative includes many beautiful passages of scripture and depicts many aspects of Jewish ritual, celebration and tradition. All the renowned biblical characters are mentioned, yet are given modern personas. The Russian Tsar, Herod the Great and the ambitious Dr. Augustus prove to be just as villainous in the present day setting. Furthermore, the inclusion of stem cell research was a successful element in bringing the story into the 21st century. Glory Born is an inspirational addition to the previous books in the series. It is a wonderful reminder to live your life pleasing God, for if you do, you’ve lived your life well.

Songs of the Deliverer III: Glory Born by Elvo Fortunato Bucci is a story about a sad old man who finds new purpose in his life after his wife died, and his daughter left home. Simeon's life changed when he met Anna, a young orphan girl with a disability, who delivered newspapers in his neighbourhood. Resistant at first, Simeon later made a deal with Anna to have his paper delivered to him in exchange for religious lessons for the enterprising girl. What follows is an unlikely shared adventure that brings them to extraordinary experiences involving a couple with an extraordinary story. Mary and Joe came into the picture and they have an extraordinary story to tell.

Elvo Fortunato Bucci, in Songs of the Deliverer III: Glory Born, proves to be a unique story teller. This is a story that brings the reader to a number of unexpected twists and turns and, during this journey, one learns a lot about the Jewish religion and a person's relationship with his or her God. What makes Songs of the Deliverer III special is that it talks about religion without sounding preachy and self righteous. The story unfolds smoothly and then the main plot is slowly revealed in such a way that makes it difficult to put the book down. Bucci brings the birth of Jesus into our midst and it is very engaging as well as enlightening. This is a story that should be very familiar to most of us and, as such, it is not difficult to relate to its characters. I highly recommend this book for readers of all ages.

Glory Born by Elvo Fortunato Bucci is the third book in the Songs of the Deliverer, a biblical trilogy that reimagines the story of Jesus Christ in a modern day setting. Each character and setting from the major to the most minor closely follow their original iteration and are written in a way that stays true to how the scriptures were meant to be presented. At the same time, Bucci writes it in a way that makes it more accessible to a contemporary audience. Glory Born focuses primarily on the Old Testament as Simeon, an observant Jewish man, begins to teach Anna, a young orphan girl, the way of the faith and through that begins to restore his own in the process. As the book progresses and Anna's teachings deepen, they both begin to realize that a prophecy surrounds them, a prophecy that will bring the world into deliverance.

Bucci writes well and crafts a novel that also works to make the scriptures more understandable, and helps readers discover the deeper meaning in the truth of God's word. Using points verified by scripture, Christian readers will enjoy this retelling of the birth of Christ through a different perspective. I found Glory Born by Elvo Fortunato Bucci very easy to read and understand, as excerpts from the scriptures are used liberally to broaden the reader's understanding and allow them to gain insight on such a classic tale. I imagine this will be an often reread work and Bucci does well in bringing this trilogy to life.

Songs of the Deliver III: Glory Born is a very inspiring and eye-opening book written to help the reader better understand the birth of Jesus Christ. Author Elvo Fortunato Bucci uses the very detailed story line of an aged gentleman named Simeon, and a young girl dealing with physical issues left alone in an orphanage. This young girl named Anna will soon inspire the reader to see how determined and full of life she truly is, a life which is not open to failure, succeeding in all that she does. Woven together on the pages are the threads of a very heartwarming story, one that allows the reader to see how age, physical issues, economics and other issues of life can't separate the hearts of individuals from reaching out to each other if they so choose to break through those man made barriers that so many place upon themselves.

Author Bucci brilliantly shares how Anna desires to learn about God, and how the elderly Simeon needs someone to invest himself in following the death of both his daughter and wife. The reader quickly engages with the story as you can place yourself within the story lines right along with the action as it is taking place. Anna grows at such a vast speed in knowledge about God and His Word. Later she uses that newfound knowledge to help a couple with an unborn child to escape death, and protects the mother and child so she can give birth to a beautiful baby boy named Jesus. This book will stretch you, entertain you, and take you deeper into what may have happened should Jesus have been born in our time.
