Author Biography

I've always considered myself a writer, even when in elementary school! With careers in marketing, raising two daughters, and marriage, I finally knew what to write about and for whom. I was inspired to write adventure/mystery chapter books for middle grade readers ages 8 to 12. My main characters are Sophie and Scottie who are 11 (and a half) year old non-identical twin sisters. They receive a picture frame that acts as a portal to amazing adventures. I made the characters to be sisters because I have two daughters and I'm a sister as well. I had to use a lot of my own creativity as a child to get things done because I was 1 of 7 children! Therefore, Sophie and Scottie are very clever and brave with a curious nature. They must empower themselves with their wit and determination to navigate within the frame to help solve the mysteries in each story. I put "Edutainment" into my books so the reader can learn something as they read the story and even "Google" the topic if they like! For instance, in the Monarch book, the reader learns about Monarch Butterflies, radio waves, pollination, and pulley systems. I hope you enjoy reading all three of my books; "Sophie and Scottie's adventures of the Monarch Mystery," "Sophie and Scottie's Adventures of Something's Fishy," and "Sophie and Scottie's Adventures of Sweet Tooth Rock" as much as I enjoyed writing them!

Sophie and Scottie's Adventures of the Monarch Mystery: The Adventures of Sophie and Scottie - Volume 1 by Cindy C Murray is a fascinating story that revolves around the adventures of Sophie and Scottie. The 10,000 acre Shear Heaven Ranch is an ideal place for Sophie and Scottie to grow up. It's summertime now and they are hoping it's going to be fun and exciting. Scottie has a feeling that this holiday is going to be different from others. It begins with Aunt Jill's special gift that tells them that it will show them many new places. Will Sophie and Scottie decide to jump into the magical crystal frame and travel to another land?

This story, filled with mystery and adventure, will enthrall kids and tell them about the Mexican culture and places. The excitement of the two girls while eagerly opening their gift and watching the changes in the frame is palpable to readers. All the characters woven into the story line, along with Scottie and Sophie, are exciting. The book has everything that will attract young readers - action, mystery, adventure, and lots of interesting facts about Mexico. The narration is detailed and vivid and it also teaches children to believe in themselves, have perseverance, and how to take care of the environment. It's a fun read with good pace and movement. The teamwork of Sophie and Scottie will encourage many children to work as a team. The story is magical and enchanting and that's what makes it appealing to readers.

Great job, my grandchildren love this book. Full of fun and adventure. Will for sure read Ms. Murray's other 2 books in the series to them.

This book was a wonderful, action-packed ride through the jungles of Mexico through the eyes of a pair of young girls. I liked that it teaches readers about the places the characters visit as well as upholds good values throughout the story. I would recommend it to advanced readers as young as seven and up to about 5th grade. Great story.
