Author Biography

I have been an avid fan of Science Fiction since I was a boy sitting on a worn couch with my father watching reruns of the old and new Star Treks and other various Science Fiction offerings. These shows and movies would spark hours of long conversations and discussions about what we had just seen, the characters, their actions, the subsequent outcomes, impacts on shipmates, the Federation, other planets, and their societies.

My father’s military background was the foundation for his vision of the future, but it was the camaraderie with his brothers in arms and his love for country and its people that spoke to me the most. It is now part of the lens in which I build my Science Fiction worlds. I have always vision myself writing science fiction, this is my passion and now it has become a way of life.

The universe is made of innumerable galaxies. With that in mind, I enjoy reading as much Science Fiction as I can, discovering and enjoying the windows to those galaxies through the imagination and visions of other authors.

Space Faction by Thomas Mariani is a science fiction story and takes place in the stars. The factions from different planets in the galaxy Decagon have been in conflict for centuries. Most have forgotten what started this never-ending war, and now factions just engage in pointless skirmishes to expand their reach. The Crystal Resistance is one of the most powerful factions in the galaxy. It once stood for justice but now only seeks power and destruction. General Vince Starflight, known throughout the cosmos as a fierce resistance pilot, has had enough of the pointless bloodshed. To bring it all to an end, he defects from his faction and creates his own. Through Project Unity, he hopes to initiate peace talks between the warring factions. However, the Crystal Resistance seeks absolute rule over the galaxy, and Vince’s peace efforts land Project Unity a few more powerful enemies. With his back against the wall, can Vince overcome the overwhelming odds to broker peace? Will Project Unity’s mission be fulfilled?

Space Faction had everything I hoped it would. It had great tech and amazing dog fights between spaceships. The dog fights for me were the best part, but that’s not to say that other areas are lacking. The plot was interesting, and I was satisfied with its outcome. The pacing was just right, with a great number of tense moments along with tender and light-hearted ones. The flow of this book was another great aspect for me, as I was often surprised at how much progress I had made when taking a quick break. I was definitely immersed in the world that Thomas Mariani had created, thanks to the author’s descriptive writing style. In conclusion, if you enjoy science fiction set in space, then this book is definitely worth your time.

Space Faction by Thomas Mariani is a space opera novel that will entertain fans of sci-fi. General Vince Starflight commands the Crystal Resistance, a powerful faction within the Decagon galaxy that aims to maintain dominance over the rest. However, tired of the meaningless bloodshed, Vince secretly forms another faction with the help of a few loyal members, which he names Project Unity. While trying to make peace with the other factions, Vince and his team find themselves on the wrong end of the Crystal Resistance, forcing them to seek sanctuary in another galaxy. But when Siegfried's loyal man Jax gives pursuit, Vince must shrug him off and obtain valuable information. Can he return with strength and end the tyrannical Autarch's rule?

If you're a fan of space operas such as Star Wars or Star Trek, you're going to love Space Faction. Author Thomas Mariani's epic sci-fi saga is fast-paced and brimming with creativity that pushes the boundaries of your imagination. The narrative hooks you in from the start and refuses to let go until the end in a plot filled with action, romance, humor, and political intrigue. The characters are colorful, with well-developed personalities who keep you engaged throughout the pages. The banter and chemistry between the members of Project Unity provided some of my favorite moments of the book. I also enjoyed Vince's relationship with Ursula. There are plenty of action sequences, and they make for some of the most entertaining scenes. I would recommend Space Faction to anyone who loves epic sci-fi sagas.

Space Faction by Thomas Mariani is a fearless science fiction novel that demonstrates how man will continue searching for lasting peace even in the far future. It has a simple plot made fascinating by its characters and twists. What we have here is the Decagon galaxy, a star system that is home to ten planets. It used to be a utopia that offered refuge to anyone who sought it, but it is now reduced to a place filled with tension from war and terror and divided by factions. The Crystal Resistance, a faction supported by the planet Darcya, plans to end the war and proclaim leadership over Decagon. But their leader, General Vince Starflight, will change the course of his moral choice toward a more peaceful future. A Tarfien starship attack left hundreds of casualties, the result of his failure during a mission. Out of the ashes of his guilt will rise a new faction called Project Unity. This faction will undergo tremendous challenges that include loyalty, betrayal, and violence.

Vince Starflight is bound to be one of the biggest characters you will meet in action-oriented science fiction. Thomas Mariani has a knack for creating characters and making stories definitive and larger than life, as demonstrated by Starflight’s internal and external struggles. Mariani also gives you a study of our baser instincts, the propensity for violence, and how some of us are better at controlling it than others. It is a story that examines the age-old idea that peace cannot exist without war. Space Faction has a considerable storyline, and you relish every scene as you understand why some people are leaders and why some are followers. Space Faction is a sci-fi action tale that has its own way of growing on you, and you will feel satisfied after you finish reading it.
