If you're a fan of sci-fi mysteries that make you wonder, grab a copy of Spidersilk by Akutra-Ramses Atenosis Cea. Mark Khiop is a video game developer with a unique ability to connect to entangled worlds and explore them from within. He also has a penchant for experiencing vivid lucid dreams that often contain clues as to what's going on in his reality. After a string of robberies and home invasions, Mark starts experiencing black ghosts in the dreamscape, and his work on his new project comes to an abrupt halt when the company shuts down. Meanwhile, his girlfriend Tina begins to showcase some of Mark's abilities and travels to other entangled worlds, putting her own life in danger. When a friend goes missing, Mark must do everything he can to save her.

What is the true nature of reality? This is the prime underlying theme running throughout Spidersilk. Surreal and often dreamlike, Akutra-Ramses Atenosis Cea's experimental narrative is a bit of an acquired taste. But readers who love a mystery box style of storytelling will have a blast with it. The cast of characters is quite large, and most of them slot into their given roles to drive the narrative forward and shed light on the themes the author is interested in. The plot has multiple tangents, with the overall story feeling like a loosely connected narrative of interrelated stories. This aspect aligns very well with the entangled worlds connected through unseen mediums theory touched upon in this book. A short novella for sci-fi enthusiasts in general.
