Spirit Baby: Communicate With Your Unborn Baby. Ease Your Birth by Helena Clare is a non-fiction spiritual guide to assist parents in connecting with the child who selects them as their own prior to and during the stages of pregnancy and birth. Clare structures the book in a highly accessible format and includes a combination of crisp photography, full-color backdrops, original poetry, note-taking space, practical and spiritual advice, and general wellness counseling. Topics covered include, but are certainly not limited to, what spirit babies are, their world, how to make a connection through meditation or song, name selection, personal stories from other parents, the birthing process and connecting to your body, and manifesting what it is you desire throughout.

I am fortunate to be connected to a biological sister who has helped me open up to a place where a book like Spirit Baby would be welcome in my life. Perhaps a few years ago I would have walked past it, but thankfully that is not the me of today. As a result, Helena Clare entered my consciousness at exactly the right moment. And that wasn't a coincidence. I loved the calm I felt picking the book up, and the poetry is moving—and also witty. I had the biggest smile reading My Body Is Not My Own, a poem that is hilarious in how profoundly honest it is, poking fun at the biological shifts that happen to our bodies while we await the transition of our spirit baby from their world into our own. The photography is absolutely stunning. Overall, this is the perfect book for those who are thinking about, ready to, or even already in the physical stages of bringing a child into their lives.
