Spirituality Demystified: Understanding Spirituality in Rational Terms by Rohana Ulluwishewa is an uplifting book that explains the nature of thought, feelings, consciousness, the nature of our minds, and our physical brain. The author blends the most important teachings of modern neuroscience and the latest discoveries of quantum energy with spirituality, making it a unique read. Apart from the spiritual angle, the author also delves into the science behind happiness and peace, which are important to spiritual growth and awareness. The author speaks about inner changes, fear, greed, and reduction of our self-centeredness, which needs to be worked on along with the external changes we make. The book gives a lot of information and is like solving a jigsaw puzzle.

All great religions have shown a way of attaining spirituality and the author also shows many science-based and non-religious pathways as well. Though the options are many, readers can make their own choices and the book also gives policy measures that will guide individuals to achieve their goals. The book shows us where the oneness of universal consciousness can guide us, and gives readers more clarity on spirituality and the practical value of spirituality for achieving a happy and successful life. The book is inspirational for all those who need a personal inner transformation and, by adopting appropriate policy measures, it is possible for governments and organisations to help individuals achieve their spiritual goals. The book, on the whole, makes readers understand the value of spiritual training.

This work is mind blowing in its simplicity, its clarity, its cogent use of words, its ability to cover the most abstract of topics seamlessly while staying fully grounded, completely clear and coherent. Indeed, if one were to only read one book in one's lifetime, this is the one. I cannot speak too highly of this simply extraordinary work. I hope to see it published very soon, preferably by a mainstream publisher so that its great wisdom and enlightened view is spread far and wide. Its contents are timely indeed, they are of our time and sorely needed in our perturbed and chaotic modern world. A brilliant work

This manuscript is what it says: an explanation of spirituality in language that is easy to understand for anyone interested in a spiritual life. With the help of scientific evidence, Ulluwishewa shows how our brains are hard-wired to be in a state of being one with the spirit, being who we really are. He also shows how this desire can be corrupted preventing us from following our hard-wired brains.

The book is filled with practical, simple advice about how we can be truly ourselves, and how we can experience transformation: inner transformation from self-centeredness to selflessness, from greed to generosity, from disharmony to harmony, from hate to love, and from ‘I’ to ‘We’ – in essence, spiritual transformation
