"Only time will tell" can sound comforting and yet frightening. There is relief when you know a loved one will live but there is fear when you know that there is brain damage. Garry Prowe shares his personal experiences with readers. His wife was injured in an automobile accident. It left her with impairments. “You must understand that a successful recovery from a serious brain injury is not a full recovery.” Most survivors are left with challenges. Prowe continues his book by discussing what you need to know if you are in this situation.

For too long the family of a brain injury survivor had no information. There was no textbook that said do this next or don’t do that. Prowe has taken his situation and used it to help others. This book covers the basics, including recovery and rehab, types of impairments, insurance and disability, stress relief, where to seek help, and many other topics.

This book is vitally important. Doctors should provide copies, or at least suggest families read this book. It is written in easily comprehensible terms. It is a treasure trove of information. Prowe has given of himself to others.
