Born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, I hold a Ph.D. in Organization and Management (Leadership focus) from Capella University, a Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from the University of Richmond.
At an early age, I developed a love of mystery and suspense stories from reading popular detective novels such as those written by Agatha Christie. I directed my love into writing my own mystery stories.
I enjoy watching detective television shows and looks forward to solving the crime ahead of the detectives. I am an amateur sleuth and revels in formulating plausible whodunit scenarios.
I live with her husband in Richmond, Virginia.

Sultry is the story of a captivating fifty-year-old adulterous affair that ensnared a family into a twisted labyrinth of secrets, deceit, betrayal, and murder. The idea for the story came from my father who loved two women when he was nineteen, but, of course, could only marry one of them. The rest of the story is a figment of my imagination. I had been intrigued for years to make up a mystery around his dilemma. Sultry is the brainchild of my fascination with his quandary and includes characters I loved developing. The perils of a man with two women lovers illuminated very effectively in the story. The setting is in my father and my home state of Virginia and gave realism to my story. I enjoyed creating it.

Sultry by Dr. Sandra Tanner is a murder mystery novel. Gideon Fitzgerald was murdered and the person responsible for it is unknown. His family, especially his granddaughter Dillyn Fitzgerald, takes up the case and resolves to find the murderer at all costs. But the investigation seems to be getting nowhere until Dillyn takes on the responsibility of finding clues to solve the mystery. It was a lot of work for her to maintain a balance between her personal life, work, and continuing the investigation. Years ago, Gideon Fitzgerald was involved in an adulterous relationship with a woman named Sultry and he had children with her. There was much controversy surrounding his affair. Was his affair responsible for his death?

An interesting thriller in which Gideon Fitzgerald's murder case keeps getting more complicated. A lot of hidden secrets unfold as the investigation dives deeper. The shocking revelations in the plot add to the fun as I couldn't help wondering what the next chapter would be like. Despite the twists and turns in the story, I didn't get lost or confused. The story was straightforward and concise. The author adds a pinch of humor and romance to make the novel worth reading. I must note that although the novel was primarily about solving a crime, there was no use of violence. Love, betrayal, crime, greed, and sacrifice were the major themes. Sultry is one of the books you should add to your bookshelf, especially if you like crime novels. Great job, Dr. Sandra Tanner. I enjoyed reading the book and it's highly recommended to other crime fans.
