Author Biography

Living in a small village in Lancashire, England, the author has written a number of books based on the tale 'Peter'.

In the 1990s, the author had twenty-one articles published, both nationally and internationally. After gaining an honours degree in Geosciences, doing post-graduate study in Occupational Health and Fitness, and earning a masters degree in Science Communication, he developed an interest for simple communication.

A passion for writing again emerged, and combining various interests in fine art, museum exhibition display, biology, geology, poetry, and the mystical led to the story of Peter: A Darkened Fairytale. The author still retains a childlike vision of the world, which is conveyed throughout his books.

Surreal Peter by William O'Brien is a book of short poems and tiny thoughts. This book differs slightly from his other work in the fact that the poetry reaches out to one's inner insanity. The poetry displayed in this book has more depth and meaning than you may initially think. Some of the tiny thoughts border on the bizarre, but each line is intriguing. The way in which the author can convey his thoughts into his work is very special. As this book differs slightly from the other poems the author has produced, I thought it may become somewhat disconnected for a book brought to light by the same original fairytale, but I could not have been more wrong. If you take the time to really study the verse you will be able to see the connection most clearly. I would summarize this as being a bit zealous yet exhilarating.

William O'Brien has produced a masterpiece in the book Surreal Peter. The dedication at the beginning is most fitting for the subject matter. It shows a whole new side to the author and his amazing talents. Each poem manages to capture the full attention of the reader and this is what I love about the book. I found it to be zany and a fresh way of interpreting such divine poetry. I am now officially a big fan of this author as he has the ability to make you take notice. For a few moments you see the world through his eyes and what a pleasure that is.
