That's Life: If I seem like an idiot, that’s probably because I am by Chris Philippe Hemingway is a highly amusing book on life events. It contains 20 anecdotes that Hemingway encountered in real life. The book starts with the agonizing story of Hemingway sending the wrong SMS to his probably most important client in the chapter “The SMS”. This is one of the many “toilet” stories in the book. There are other intriguing stories, such as those from his acting and engineering professions.

I really enjoyed reading That's Life. Chris Philippe Hemingway is a good storyteller and the book is well written. I think it is very courageous of Hemingway to share his stories with the world, especially when some of them are not something to boast about. This is, in fact, the selling point of the book – we can sometimes laugh at various life incidents when they did not happen the way we wanted them to. The book also contains much life wisdom, such as we are not so different from those who are of the highest status in our society, in the chapter “The Man”, and if you don’t know anyone weirder than you, there is a good chance you are the weirdest person around, in the chapter “The Orchestra”. For those who want to look at life from a non-ordinary perspective or want a respite from ordinary hectic life, That's Life is the book to read.
