Author Biography

Visit Marla's website for a FREE copy of her cozy, chick-lit mystery novel LOST WITNESS: http://www.marlabradeen.com

Marla Bradeen previously worked as a software consultant and analyst. In 2012, she gave up a traditional job for no other reason than to have more time to pursue personal interests, such as sleeping in late and taking naps. Although she misses seeing regular deposits into her bank account, she hasn't once regretted that decision.

She didn't initially intend to begin writing novels, but after several weeks of doing nothing, she realized sleeping all day isn't as easy or enjoyable as her cats led her to believe. Over the ensuing months, she wrote LETHAL INJECTION, which she self-published in 2013.

The Amicable Divorce by Marla Bradeen is a chick-lit novel. Vanessa hates her job with a passion and, just having had her driver’s license suspended, she is not looking forward to her upcoming thirtieth birthday. Things can’t get any worse…can they? Without any warning, Brian, Vanessa’s husband, tells her that he wants a divorce and tries to get her to move out. Standing her ground, Vanessa says she is not moving, forcing Brian to go instead. Taking advice from her sister, who is on her fourth husband already, Vanessa searches for and takes financial documents from Brian’s office, thinking she can find out how much money he has. Instead, she finds something else, something she doesn’t know what to do with, and life is about to become very difficult indeed. She needs to work out what is going on before it’s too late. Can Vanessa succeed and can she get her husband back, or will they decide to settle for the amicable divorce after all?

The Amicable Divorce: A Chick-Lit Novel by Marla Bradeen is a highly amusing story. Marla says that her book was turned down by a lot of prospective publishers, but it is them with egg on their faces now. She has written a real cracker of a story, a tale full of laughter and mystery. Her characters are very likeable and written in a way that you can easily get to know them. The story itself is well written, it flows naturally, and there isn’t any part of it that lacks in any way. Any reader will find themselves drawn into the story from page one; they will find themselves rooting for Vanessa all the way, laughing at her clueless existence, and cheering her on when she succeeds in something, however small it may be. Great story, I loved it, and am really looking forward to reading more from Marla Bradeen.
