The Angel's Bridge is a work of collected poetry in the self-expression, love, and romance subgenres and was penned by author Loretta Sines. The work is intended for the general reading audience and contains fantasy themes interspersed with deep emotional moments. Comprising of eighteen poems on varying themes, the work runs the gamut from observational, anticipatory musings about ‘The Cat’ to allegories of love through gardens, wine, and the scent of flowers. The poetry takes different forms but is largely free verse with some poetic prose moments included. What results is a very engrossing poetic collection that captures a specific moment in time to take readers on an epic journey of the soul.

Author Loretta Sines has crafted a concise but precise work with true emotional depth, and with plenty of beautiful imagery, fantasy ideas, and gorgeous wordplay to offer readers. There was certainly something of the old Romantic era of poetry in the work’s conception, drawing on those immersive themes of nature and mixing them with the ethereal fantasy of angels, the stars, and our place in the heavens. It was a true testament to the author’s prowess and control of language to see how definite the shift in tone is from verse to verse, like stepping into another facet of the soul entirely. My particular favorites came later in the collection with both ‘Wren’ and ‘Tattoo’ becoming necessary re-reads almost at once. Overall, I would highly recommend The Angel's Bridge to fans of emotive poetry, expressive fantasy metaphor, and for fans of poetry and poetic prose everywhere.
