Wow! I just finished reading The Beginning: Prelude to the Apocalypse by debut author Bruce S. Campbell, and I must say that it is one of the better books I have read in a good long while. In a unique tale that combines Biblical stories with science, historical events and a bit of mystery, readers will certainly find themselves on quite a journey throughout this read. The book focuses on the story of Enoch from the Book of Genesis, as he is sent back to Earth by God to prepare us for the Second Coming of Christ. Enoch is given several gifts to realize his mission, including the secret mysteries of the Godhead as a sign for the world. Enoch is tested in his mission and certainly encounters many temptations during his time in New Orleans, but if he does not succeed then all might be lost.

I very much enjoyed The Beginning: Prelude to the Apocalypse. Author Bruce S. Campbell has given his readers a very creative and exciting look at the preparations for the second coming, and a story that readers will have a great deal of difficulty putting down once they have started it. His characters, especially his characterization of Enoch, is very acutely drawn, making him into a person that readers will be able to relate to and connect with. This was a book that I continued to think about long after I finished it, and if that is not a hallmark of a great writer, I'm not sure what is. I am very pleased to recommend The Beginning: Prelude to the Apocalypse to any reader looking for an exciting work of fiction in the Christian genre. I certainly hope that author Bruce S. Campbell is hard at work on the next installment of this highly promising series. I, for one, will be anxiously waiting for its arrival!
