The Book of Scattered Memories: A Maggie's Bed and Breakfast Story by Eva D. Beaty is the second story in the series. Just when life seems to be settling for Maggie and her sisters, their beloved mother dies and they’re left with only memories found amongst her belongings. A deeper exploration leads to an interesting discovery when Maggie learns important and surprising life lessons from her mother’s diary that will change the way she views the world and her sisters forever.

Author Eva D. Beaty captures a fascinating and heartfelt tale of family ties and the crazy paths that life sometimes leads us on to get us to where we need to be. There’s a wonderful sense of youth to the narrative which keeps things fresh, especially as Maggie embarks on a journey of discovery about her place in her family and the wider world. This is a journey that parallels the exploits of her mother and where the different strands of the narrative play off one another to provide both contrasts and similarities that we can all relate to in our own lives. The author deals with grief, memory, and celebration in careful, well-considered prose that ultimately brings more hope than it does sorrow. Overall, I would certainly recommend The Book of Scattered Memories to fans of deep interpersonal dramas that come from the heart.

The Book of Scattered Memories is the second part of E.D. Beaty's A Maggie's Bread and Breakfast Story. Maggie is still dealing with her sister Jasmine losing her baby with Mark when her mother suffers a devastating episode of memocoma, eventually losing her life to it. Not long after, George follows his love to the grave. Meanwhile, on Maggie's suggestion, her siblings agree to a triple wedding with their respective partners, bringing an atmosphere of joy to Maggie's home. But when Maggie stumbles upon a diary of Brenda's while rummaging through her stuff, it opens Pandora's box of secrets regarding her and her siblings' births that turns her whole life upside down. Now, with Marty in the hospital, needing a kidney transplant, can Maggie and her loved ones save her?

The Book of Scattered Memories is a cozy slice-of-life drama novel that follows a woman's journey to self-discovery and realizing the true meaning of family. Full of romance, reveals, and humor, E.D. Beaty tells an engaging tale about a group of siblings who try to navigate together the unforeseen hurdles life throws their way. The primary draw of Beaty's narrative is the unexpected turn of events in the plot. Complemented by a genuinely wholesome dynamic between Maggie and her siblings, it makes for an absorbing reading experience. Maggie is an emotionally relatable protagonist, and you can't help but sympathize with her plight. All in all, this is the perfect book for readers who love big family drama stories.

Maggie and her sisters Marty and Jasmine are part of a close-knit family. Recently reunited with their ailing mother, they want to make the most of what little time they have together but sadly the inevitable occurs and their mother succumbs to memocoma. Maggie tries her best to keep their expanding family together but when she finds a diary that purportedly belonged to her mother and starts reading it, she realizes that not everything she grew up believing may be accurate and now she must decide if she will make things right for the sake of her siblings. Inconvenient truths will be laid bare in E.D. Beaty’s The Book Of Scattered Memories.

E.D. Beaty displays an impressive talent when it comes to weaving family threads as can be witnessed in The Book Of Scattered Memories. The story picks up from where its predecessor left off but the way E.D. Beaty stylishly details the connections between each of the sisters as well as their respective partners, it did not take long for me to connect the less obvious dots. The drama in the storyline is riveting, to say the least. Just when I thought I finally understood the unusual dynamic between Alex and Maggie, trust E.D. Beaty to throw in a new angle from the least expected source. The surprises tumble in by the chapter. The conversations are deep, natural, and very easy to identify with. I particularly like the way the focus of the story moves fluidly between the sisters without losing a reader. The Book Of Scattered Memories is an example of the drama genre at its finest.

The Book of Scattered Memories by E.D. Beaty is Part Two of Maggie’s Bed and Breakfast. Three women, Maggie, Marty, and Jasmine, just found out they are sisters and have the same mother. Their mother was diagnosed with Memocoma years ago, and she is not responding well to her treatment. She is slowly losing her battle against her illness. After her mother’s death, Maggie finds her mother’s diary in a box with her other belongings. Maggie wants to read the diary before she says anything about it. Maggie starts forgetting little things, and everyone is worried about her. The others persuade Maggie to go and see her mother's doctor to determine if she is also struggling with Memocoma. The doctor can put Maggie on a new treatment that will help her a lot.

The plot in The Book of Scattered Memories by E.D. Beaty is complex but the storyline flowed smoothly, and it was an easy read. It was fast-paced and full of action. With all the twists and turns, I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride. Every new twist changed the direction of the story. There was never a dull moment, and I never knew what to expect next. The characters were excellently developed. They were relatable and could be anyone I know. They were a close group of family and friends who were looking out for each other. The major twist at the end almost made my heart stop. I couldn't believe that something like this could happen now. Fortunately, everything worked out for the best. The ending was a perfect conclusion to this roller coaster ride.

The Book of Scattered Memories by E.D. Beaty is the second book in Maggie’s Bed and Breakfast Story series. The author has taken the characters developed in the first book and carried on with their lives. The main characters are Maggie, Marty, Alex, Joseph, Ben, Larry, Jasmine, Mark, and Tina all together with new characters that make short and interesting appearances throughout, bringing their own roles to this delightful family story. The author tells this wonderful tale with a very human and down-to-earth touch. The second book is written with the same passion as the first. The community that rallies around the main characters is so gentle and understanding that it makes the reader think how, in today’s times, those communities are long gone and don’t exist anymore.

The Book of Scattered Memories takes so many twists and turns that at the end, the reader thinks, well, there is nothing else that can go wrong but the twist in the tale is there and what a twist. I really enjoyed catching up with this family. E.D. Beaty grabs the reader's attention again from the first page to the last and they will find that they will experience a host of emotions both good and bad right up to the end. This book is not one that you can skip pages as the twist at the end will then still be a mystery. I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to seeing if there is a sequel. Thank you for a delightful read.
