The Chronicles of Kharathad: Roots by Matia ben Ephraim is set against the backdrop of the far southwestern forests of Kharathad, where the town of the same name stands. Dogalas lives there and is raised by a farmer and his wife. The book chronicles the development of this boy and his evolution as he grows up to realize his intuitive skill, leadership qualities, and altruism. Dogalas' growing up stages in the rural town, the difficulties that shape his character, and his behavior in the difficult situations in life make the story an engaging and entertaining one. Will Dogalas be able to trace the roots to his future, and will he be able to understand the reality of magic?

The story is fast paced and will enthrall readers with its humor, adventure, fantasy, action, and magic. The author develops the character of Dogalas very well and readers get to see him growing as a person in various circumstances that reveal his character and integrity. The author captures the life of Dogalas on the farmstead, his childhood, and his growth and evolution as a person. The detailed and descriptive narration makes the story and the characters come alive with its vividness. The author weaves a charming tale that will connect well with readers and the characters are real and palpable. The story is spontaneous and funny, and will keep readers glued to the very end. Dogalas will remain in the hearts of readers for a long time, even after they finish the book.
