Author Biography

I was born in Des Moines, Iowa, but grew up and still live in a small town in northwest Iowa. I did live in southern California for seven years, which is where my first novel, The Color of Tears, became a dream story.
I've always had a love for songwriting and have written and composed over a hundred songs. At times it was personal satisfaction writing the words, then taking my guitar and putting those words to music.
With a never ending love for writing, it would only seem natural to take the words I carried in my head and turn them into full length novels. The one thing I've decided not to worry about is critics. They're always going to be there no matter what. I take it with a grain of salt because you can't please everyone.
I also have an undeniable love for animals, and if I could, I'd save every homeless animal on the planet. Please adopt from shelters because there are so many animals that need good loving homes.

Dany Madrid and her father, Dante, move to a ranch in Montana after her mother, Ellen, died. Dany is free spirited and stubborn, and prefers to wear cowboy clothing instead of dresses, much to the disapproval of some townsfolk. Dany becomes involved with a cowboy named Jace. Unfortunately, there are ruthless people who do not want Dany involved in a relationship as it would ruin their scheming plots, and they are willing to commit murder to get their way. Dante tries to keep his illness a secret until he can find the right time to tell his daughter. His neighbour, Brian, who is also a widower, has grown very fond of Dany. He also has a secret that could change her life forever. Both men are willing to bide their time as they both love Dany. The Color of Tears is written by Diane Brandow.

The Color of Tears is a heart-warming Western story that was worth the time spent reading it. I liked the diverse and interesting personalities that some of the characters had. Author Diane Brandow developed her characters well, and each displayed their emotions and temperaments very realistically in a strong plot and setting. I was given an informative tour of life on a ranch in a past era. The book was unique, and the more I read, the more curious I became, wanting to know what would happen next. The cover illustration is attractive and complements the story. It was a pleasure reading The Color of Tears.
