The Discovery of the Secret Gospel of the Rich and Powerful is a work of satirical fiction by author Gary Tutty. Have you ever wondered from just what gospel our political leaders, who proudly proclaim they are devout Christians, get their inspiration when they espouse hate and intolerance? Or when they seek revenge on anyone who disagrees with them? Or how Christian business leaders suppress workers' wages and deny benefits as fiery evangelical preachers beat the drums of support for these unethical practices? In this satirical novel, you'll meet the Jesus these leaders are emulating. He is a Jesus who teaches his apostles to mock others, never admit guilt, and create their own version of the truth. With our discovery of this new Jesus, known only to the rich and powerful until now, you'll come to realize they are doing God’s work after all.

This most unusual novel demonstrates the author's excellent grasp of satire: a story that is sure to boggle the imagination of religious story fans. In the appropriately subtitled Gospel of Saint Avarice, Gary Tutty uses his in-depth knowledge of New Testament stories to create a funny, sarcastic, and wise tale that accurately describes the methods in the madness of today's super-rich. Though a satirical tale, the scorn directed at the super-rich - who use and abuse the Christian religion to increase their wealth and further the divide between the have-nots of this world - comes through loud and clear. Tutty's knowledge of biblical stories coupled with a vast insight into the workings of the rich and powerful provide ample impetus to read on and on. Throughout the novel, Tutty's portrayal of Jesus and his teachings is the antithesis of the Jesus described in the Bible's New Testament, while simultaneously portraying a Jesus often seen in today's corporate and political world. The Discovery of the Secret Gospel of the Rich and Powerful is an entertaining read that delivers a message that needs to be heard by one and all.
