The Dragon's Glare by T.J. and M.L. Wolf is the second book in The Survival Trilogy. The year is now 2019 and Una is facing new dangers and bigger mysteries. Una has received an assignment which sends her to Chinatown in time for celebration but once again she finds herself in the middle of a strange encounter, only this time she doesn't remember any of it. The latest mystery draws two men back into her life. Ashcroft is at the heart of an investigation into a cyber breach which may have dire consequences for immigrants while Jack has contacted her over his research into a UFO sighting. Una doesn't believe any of these events are a coincidence and as she investigates, she remembers old stories from her childhood which might hold all the answers she's looking for. Una's last adventure led her to a shocking discovery and drew her into confronting her past, which allowed her to find some closure. As with the first book, The Dragon's Glare opens with a significant event which drives the story forward and one to which the following events can be connected.

T.J. and M.L. Wolf brilliantly blend together various threads by drawing Una into each mystery, tying everything together and revealing more secrets for Una to expose. As before, events are connected to the possible existence of aliens and the investigation to find out one way or another. Una has new and old forces joining her on a quest for answers. Maddie is an engaging character with a love of horoscopes and a determined loyalty who is a significant help to Una as she moves forward. Returning are the characters of Ashcroft and Jack, both of whom play a role in the larger mystery and both have a deep connection to Una. Not only are events opening up an intriguing science fiction journey into the study of alien sightings and a deeper conspiracy, but also looking at immigrants and their experiences. The characters are diverse and from various backgrounds, all finding common ground through a possible prophecy, strange encounters, and a drive for answers. The Dragon's Glare is an addictive read with mystery and suspense, action and danger, and an exploration into the unknown.
