Christmas may be doomed when Santa finds himself at odds in the middle of his Christmas Eve delivery with an unorganized bag of holiday presents. Particularly Suzie’s doll! There are too many toy trains and Suzie’s doll has disappeared! While rummaging through his sack, Santa loses his hat and his boots, the reindeer are confused, and the elves are put in the position of control when their boss falls into the sleigh in a dazed heap. But although the elves are prepared to come to the rescue, can they put Santa back to rights and save what may be a total holiday disaster?

The Elves Save Christmas by Readers Favorite award winning novelist and illustrator Regina Puckett is a delightful rhyming holiday tale that is as much fun to look at as it is to read. Each page contains a colorful visual of the unfolding story that probably enters the minds of many children who await the arrival of Santa Claus. In this holiday twist, the question is more “Is Santa prepared?” than “Will Santa bring me the gift I want?” Of course, this is the thought process most appreciated by the adult reader, while the young story recipient is caught in the suspense of Santa’s dilemma. I really like Puckett’s illustrations and am impressed that each page is dedicated equally to art and to written story. The Elves Save Christmas offers children a lesson in the importance of team work while the artwork provides a visual treat of the rewards of a job well done.
