The Entity of Camp Devils Lake by Anthony Robert Lee Jr. Gurule is a book for horror fans, an engrossing read that will keep you awake through the night without noticing the sweat dripping from your forehead. In 2008, a group of high school students sets out on a two-week excursion to Camp Devils Lake, but what started as an exciting event quickly turns into horror, a suspenseful story with a labyrinthine plot, exploring the proverbial struggle between good and evil. When a little boy gets killed, Rodger starts an investigation, and quickly finds out that it isn’t about human beings, because the group is faced with an entity that could be out to feed on their souls. Readers will follow Rodger and a compelling cast of both mortal and supernatural characters as they become embroiled in a fight for survival, for revenge, and freedom. Can these mortals find the tools to defeat an evil as powerful as this one? It is for the reader to find out.

This book is awesome! The character of the little baby is crazy cool and the image of a baby with sharp teeth and black eyes looking at a grown man saying look at my teeth look at my teeth is amazing! The child in the book appears several times and is unique and different from other characters. If this were going to be a movie. I would watch it because it is different and new! The concept and the action sequences in the book are mind boggling. Anthony your book rocks!

Alicia

This is a really good book! It's really scary, my favorite character is The baby that bears no mark because he is really scary. The action is cool and the story is strong. The plot is intense and the characters fit the parts well. Buy this book it is awesome!!!!! It would make a great movie as well!!!!!

Horror gore man

I think this book is really good in the terms of all the action and suspense as the main character Roger is pulled into a whirlwind of terror, shock, emotional ties to his family and the evil plot the entity has in store for Rodger. The book is an all out good vs evil book with twists and turns at every angle. How would you feel if the powers of the unknown were lurking in every aspect of your life. The author turns Murphy's law into "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong". In this book it does and their is a twisted sense of humor with the main character as he becomes fed up with the main characters in the book.

Isiah

The book is horrible in the fact that it is so good. I could not put it down as the story started to unfold in the end. The sequences of repetition helps the reader stay focused and works to the readers ability. It is almost as if the author wrote the book for an ADHD person to stay focused on the action, suspense, love, resentment, political, and overall a really good story about faith, religion, biases and the person gets to distinguish their own biases towards the whole subject of religion. I thought the book was better than good! The characters will haunt you, but leave you with a sense of wow!!

The book is really well written. It has a sense of mystery and suspense. The internal battles of Rodger and the evil characters as their stories are unfolded. The evil done unto another, and the consequences of the evil were extreme it turned these lost children into the monsters they are in the book. The cruelness of the world is extreme and the way the author portrays their stories is good. Well done! Hands down five stars and it is well deserved.

Boom boom pow

Wow! Wow! Wow! Have never read a book as sick as this one. The author man has a twisted sense of gore. The characters all signify the meaning of terror. The characters were in my dreams! Do not read this book at night! You will stay up thinking and noticing every little bump in the night. Scared but great for horror fans! Awesome job man!

The description and imagery throughout several passages were captivating, the picture of gore and chaos that the author paints left a lasting image in the readers mind even after the book was put down. The outward story was really a great read, but getting to search for and discern through the underlying themes the main character deals with through out his experience was an added bonus that allowed me to honestly say that this book will remain a part of my collection for a long time to come.

While reading this interesting book I found it to be quite interesting with all the characters. The main character in the begininng is a child who is brought to a gruesome demise as an investigator finds out later. The other main character is Rodger a man who is woken up by the coroner to go and investigate the boys death. What he finds is chilling and deadly. The Entity has powers beyond a normal evil spirit and is out for souls. The characters of the Baby, Mala, Mamba, Vesuvius, and the flaming bad ass dog, and the entity have scared me. The characters really do stick with you as you read, and as the sweat starts to drip off your eyebrows you start to wonder what is going to happen next. The story progressively enhances and it is noticable throughout the book. The characters seem to evolve and change as the story changes and twists. The book that scared me, and I read several novels dealing with the supernatural. The Entity of Camp Devils Lake will remain in my collection, and will be passed down. Where did this guy think of all this stuff, and the fact that he ties all the worlds religions into a web of smoke screens is interesting. Two thumbs go way up for this book.

"Look into my eyes, look into my eyes. Look at my teeth, look at my teeth!" Where did you get this from? It scared me to the point where I had to keep reading to get to the end! The book is amazing and very creative when dealing with the supernatural. I think we are soon to say move over Stranger Things move over this is the next best thing! Wholly crap this would make an awesome move. I could see the flaming dog running down the mountain and the intensity of the man driving away. The suspense action, and the thrill of the characters and drama, romance. The Entity of Camp Devils Lake has a little bit of everything! The second book is what I am waiting for!!!!! If it is as good as the first book. I can't wait!

The book is scary! Wow! Wow! Wow! Amazing this book should be made into a movie! The graphics of the characters would be phenomenal! Amazing book with down right scary characters. Move over because this horror novel is going to be the next best movie for horror fans if it hits theaters. The genre is horror and the characters are straight up fantasy with the twinges of action, suspense, love and adoration for family, and good vs evil. I loved this book. Great job!

The Entity was my favorite character in the book, and though he has all power he is a character I can relate to in the book. Evil has power in many ways and the supernatural effect of the Entity's brothers and sisters which he has their powers as well shows the author did a great job in sustaining the plot. The character really do stay in you head as you read. I found myself hearing things at night as the image of a baby’s foot steps running through the house. I found myself in the blankets too scared to get out of bed. Haunted by the characters the book shows no signs of letting go of the gripping task of the Entities true purpose. Destruction of humanity and revenge for the fallen lost children of Devils Lake. I give this book five stars because the author does. It lack imagination. If anything this is what makes the book unique and great to read.

I came across an amazing read for horror fans. If you like scary this book is the one that will keep you up for days. The hospital scene with Angela was my breaking point! I was excited oddly, but scared out of my mind. The entity came out full force showing Irene the powerful presence of true evil. The entity in this chapter shows himself through Angela. The scenes are dark scary and push people to lol away from the book. I could no stop reading. The wife and I were so scared we were looking out the windows at night when were heard crows cawing and eating a dead rabbit. Anthony Gurule does a great job of making the reader feel like they are part of the book and he action. Five stars to The Entity of Camp Devils Lake and Anthony Gurule’s crazy imagination. The book should be considered for a movie because it is that good! Awesome book can’t wait for The Entity Parallels!

The Entity of Camp Devils Lake is a unique book with action, suspense, and tons of blood and gore as all horror novels should have in their context. The story starts off with a series of unfortunate events in chapter 1 letting the reader know that their is more to come. The fire in the eyes are what caught my attention. The large amount of detail as to what happens to the characters is great and the action is so intense you have to continue reading on as the characters fit their parts well. The plot and settings in this book are well developed, and the author brings you to the edge of your seat as the intensity of the powers of evil are brought to life in your head. The author has a talent for bringing detail into the picture to help the reader feel they are part of the action. While reading this book the sounds of the house enhanced and each time the house made a sound or a pop I was jumping. The hospital scene where the entity is using Angela's body to make an appearance is so scary! Horror fans if you love to be scared then take the time to read Anthony Gurule's The Entity of Camp Devils Lake. The book will haunt you and have you pulling the covers over your head in the middle of the night.

The book follows an investigation where everything seems to go well until the main character finds himself dealing with strange supernatural beings that are thirsty for souls. The main character battles evil in an all new way as the spiritual awakening becomes a superpower to aid him in his quest of defeating the entity and the lost children of devils lake. The origins in this book sparks the reader to want to know who the characters are and what they have become. The monsters of the world are not always what we see. Anthony Gurule sets up smoke screens in the book to show monsters in the community and in the government. The worlds religions are also mentioned but subliminally as the biases are also the readers to determine. The boy in the book who died is the main cause of the investigation, but what the main character finds is even his dreams are not safe. The book is a great read the reason why I am giving this book 5 stars is because it is like nothing I have ever read before. The books uniqueness and imagery, satire, and description are what make this book worth the read even if I have had nightmares of these characters coming for me at night. Congratulations on writing a great book for horror fans. The book would make a great movie, and the characters would be something different to see not something already redone, and redone as Hollywood has run out of ideas and remaking the classics. I recommend this book to anyone who is not faint at heart and who is willing to tough out the intense scenes of blood and gore! Horror fans delight!

Horror fans it doesn't get any better than this twisted tale of terror. The Author has a mean streak of being upbeat and taking horror to a whole new level. The Entity of Camp Devils Lake will scare the socks off of you. I would recommend a 4.7 stars out of 5, because of the fact that I was so scared at times I could not sleep. The book is nicely written and the intensity of the entity and his powers haunts the readers as well as Rodger the main character. Deadly gruesome characters that are out for blood, torture, and revenge in this all out crazy scary cool book of death and destruction of everyone who comes in contact with the entity and the lost children. Do you have what it takes to stomach the wrath of an entity with no limitations till the very last page? You decide! Are you man enough to read on in an epic tale of good vs evil?

I ask the author to please!!!!!!

Find the resources to make this book a movie! It's new! It's different, and would be a box office hit! Please!!!!!!!!!!!! Since I have read this book it would be awesome to see the characters come to life, and with today's technology this would be an awesome motion picture.

The book is really good and it has tons of action, and should be a horror movie in the future. I would go and see this movie because the book is written so well everything would fall into place.

When I first heard about your book i was skeptic on the genre of the book. The person who told me about it said it was really scary and that I would like it because I've got a twisted sense of humor when it comes to horror. The gruesome the better. I found a sample on a website and bought the book after reading the first couple of chapters. The book was outstanding in plot, setting, and of course the horror, but this book did something better than other books. Anthony you involved the readers in your book which is weird and cool at the same time. It allows the reader to make choices as to their beliefs and what they want to see and believe. I thought the characters effectively served their purpose and the action was constant. It did not stop or slow down, or get boring. The fact that the images are perfectly described makes this book great and an intense read. The books story is impressive and the imagination is mind-blowing. I will keep this book in my collection and reread in the future.

Pete can fly

Pete,
Here is a book not for the faint of heart at all. If you scare easily and are not able to hold in your lunch after seeing something gruesome. The Entity of Camp Devils Lake is not the book for you. The images put into your head are gruesome and are so detailed your heart might not be able to take all the dark talk and the language associated with making the character seem real and ready to attack out of every corner. The entity in this book is relentless in killing and will stop at nothing for revenge. The character has a cast of immortal creatures supporting his cause for wanting the revenge. The people of the world have turned from the shadows long enough and now the entity is going to make them all pay with torture and a lake of boiling blood. Intense read, great images, great characters, and amazingly the book didn't bleed as I was reading it. Anthony Gurule has got the talent to make his characters come to life.

Obsidian rock of Darkness

In order to make a decision on the book. I gave The Entity of Camp Devils Lake a five star rating. The book not only took me by surprise as the author sets the tone in an epic story of good vs evil. Darkness has a path in the lives of many. It is how we interpret the pathway. The author has set the stage for a great series as the book in the end grasps the reader into a series of events that leads to a scary end. Reflecting on the past makes us better people, and when we look into the darkness a fragment of light could make all the difference. The book is riddled in subliminal messages to the public and they are embedded in the book extremely well the manipulator being the darkness of a shadow on the world today stemming from the mountain of darkness. Great work on this book. Look to your innermost belief and know your own world is against you. Is the shadow of darkness evil or is the shadow trying to destroy something more? You decide as the reader in this amazing book. Author Anthony Gurule Jr does an amazing job bring imagination and his characters to life in a world riddled with pain and despair. The lost children also suffering the pain of life. Evil enticing the growth of immortality and at what price to these shadows of the world still haunting the world in today’s societies. Words of the past, and the books of man deceive the true nature of what life really is all about. The book left me with a sense of terror yet an awakening of the mind, and a reflection of self and he world around me. Great book recommended to all who have a strong sense of life and imagination for growth in oneself.
