Author Biography

Dmitri Dobrovolski was born in the Ukraine, in the city of Krivoy Rog. When he was twelve years old, his family moved to Russia, then part of the Soviet Union.

When he returned after serving in the army in 1992, he visited the Assembly of Protestants for the first time. He did not like the meeting and no longer attended church. But he remained in discussion with one believer in Christ – a girl named Vera. This girl answered many of his questions. Then, in February 1993, he received a parcel from abroad with a bible in it.

Up to September 2000, Dmitri read the Bible from beginning to end many times, but did not attend church meetings. However, God found him. He came to believe in Jesus Christ and was baptized.

Since 2004, Dmitri has served children in his local church. He has also supervised a children’s chess club. But on 19th April, 2012, Dmitri began to encounter God in a special way in a prayer room. Within a few days, he had received a clear calling to become a Christian writer. ‘The Faithful Steward’ is his first novel.

The Faithful Steward by Dmitri Dobrovolski is a interesting take on stewardship. The author has created inspiring stories of stewardship as a means to show how faithfulness will not go unrewarded. The book is broken down into ten chapters involving creative stories to demonstrate the faithfulness of a good steward. Each story captures the reader's attention in a compelling way. The author begins each chapter with a scripture and creates a story from the essence of the scripture. This style makes the reading fun and entertaining, while demonstrating a valuable lesson on stewardship.

Some of the stories will stir your imagination with the vivid descriptions the author uses to drive home a point, illustrated within the scripture. Each story creates and answers the question of faithfulness. As stewards, it's important for us to remain faithful to whatever God has called us to do. His reward only comes to those who remain faithful and steadfast in truth. Some of the stories will place readers in a first person point of view as the author tells the story firsthand. To experience faithfulness through someone's eyes makes it more than a story. It takes the words off the page and places them within the heart of the reader.

Each story will touch different parts of your emotions and bring you to a point of accountability. We are conscious of God's outstretched arms as He is looking for stewards who shall remain faithful. This book is a very creative way to demonstrate profound biblical stories. I recommend this book to Bible readers and those who enjoy stories of inspiration.
