The Financial Well Being Book offers a unique spin on money matters. For author Chris Budd, financial well being isn’t just about amassing wealth. It’s about creating a fulfilling life. The Financial Well Being Book is perfect if you’re a financial planning newbie. It covers many basic topics such as budgeting, saving, investing, and wills. However, for all experience levels, Mr. Budd complements his practical advice with a sprinkling of psychology. He encourages us to let go of our self-limiting beliefs and realize all the financial options we have. His many anecdotes give us real-life examples of people who discovered they could achieve their dreams and find fulfillment simply by thinking about money differently.

The Financial Well Being Book is especially helpful if you’re considering engaging a financial planner. Mr. Budd models how all financial planners should approach their clients — caring about the whole person, not just their wallet. Although written for a British audience, Mr. Budd’s wisdom applies in any culture. His universal advice focuses on the emotional impact of personal financial decisions. My favorite anecdote is about a man who was too careful with money. He died suddenly, leaving his wife very well-off, but she was deeply saddened when she learned of all the money he’d saved. She wished her husband had used their money for travel and their mutual enjoyment. Budd writes, “….he forgot to spend money on creating memories….” The Financial Well Being Book helped me reconsider my options as I approach retirement. I found clarity on questions I’d been wrestling with for months. Thank you, Chris Budd!
