Demetrius, the son of Apollo, is a demigod, born in Athens and raised in Sparta. He is content in life being the right hand man of the Spartan king, and having never lost a battle. He isn’t much interested in taking a bride, and just is happy with being the leader of the soldiers and living his Spartan lifestyle. Kesi, the daughter of Lucifer the Morningstar, is on the run for her life. She has managed to get out of hell, but is wanted by both the angels and demons to be used as a living weapon. When the two meet, their destinies are combined as they are forced to go on a journey together and face life, death and love. With a mysterious figure running things from the background, there is a twist at every corner.

The First Child by Alicia D'Aversa is an amazing story. I was very pleased with the storyline, and how it combined the different aspects of beliefs. I have always loved stories that sort of re-purpose ancient Greek mythology, and I thought it would be another one of those. But it is so much more when it combines the aspects of both Greek mythology and God and all the angels and demons too. It is a good read, and when I finished the book I was satisfied with the ending, but at the same time I wanted to move on right away to the next book to find out what happens - and as we all know, that only occurs when a good book is involved.
