When God asked me to write a book, my first thought was, “Cool!” but I did nothing. When He nudged again I said, “Don’t you see I’m busy! It’s too hard, and I don’t know what to write about.” He let time pass and when he elbowed me again I muttered, “But God, I am so unworthy and my life is such a mess right now. How could I possibly write a book going though all of this?”
God let me push Him away until He nudged me so hard the idea in front of my path tripped me until I hit the ground face first. He was trying to let me know that it was my mess He was nudging me to write about! More importantly, it was the armor that I recently had given into and decided to wear. He was outfitting me with His truths and wanted me to share with you what I learned. We live in a messy world with messy side effects, but God doesn’t define us by our circumstances. We are defined by the faith and trust we put in Him to shield and guide us along the way. It’s messy because of sin. It’s defeated because of His Son. We are able to navigate through it all by choosing to wear His armor, and God wants you protected with His peace and joy against anything that may form against you.
