The Giraffe That Will Make You Laugh by Mamma Macs revolves around the story of Cuthburt, the giraffe who is a clown in the circus. Cuthburt does not look like the usual clowns one sees in the circus, but his antics make the crowds laugh and he is very popular. He is a helpful fellow to all his friends, irrespective of whether it is the ringmaster, the lion or the man who breathes fire. Cuthburt the clown giraffe is always ready to help the people around him. This wonderful story takes young readers through Cuthburt's daily routine and, written in rhyming verses, it makes an interesting read. Kids are going to love Cuthburt and his everyday life at the circus.

I liked the story because it is not only educational, but has an exciting concept for kids. The giraffe's daily routine at the circus not only tells kids more details about the circus, but also teaches kids about rhyming words. The illustrations are wonderful and eye-catching and they give movement and life to the story and characters. Cuthburt comes alive under the painter's brush and the idea of highlighting the rhyming words is indeed useful for young readers to comprehend quickly. It makes a good bedtime story and parents and grandparents can read it out to their kids and grandkids. It can be used in read aloud sessions in classrooms and libraries too as it helps children grow creatively and educationally.

If you are out searching for the perfect baby shower gift, look no further than The Giraffe That Will Make You Laugh, which is exactly why I wanted to read the book! Follow along with Cuthbert the giraffe and explore the whimsical world of the circus in this fun new children's book.

Rhyming couplets are the name of the game when it comes to the writing style, and Mamma Macs has these cute little pairs down to an art. As an added learning tool for older children reading this story, the rhyming words are highlighted in different colors which could really help them grasp rhymes and word play for themselves. The talented illustrator for The Giraffe That Will Make You Laugh is Emma Matinca and she has done a great job with the colors and drawings. It appears to be either colored pencil or watercolor, both fun ideas that kids will enjoy looking at and possibly imitating at the art table.

This is a kids' book that your younger children will bring to you at bedtime over and over again. While it's the younger kids who will really appreciate this one, I can see it becoming a cherished memory for kids both older and younger as they think back on that special time when Mommy or Daddy read to them at bedtime and they went off to sleep giggling at giraffes and elephants and all kinds of fun animals. Mamma Macs has a real winner here.

Author Mamma Macs has done it again with a wonderfully penned book that will reach out to children and parents everywhere. In her book The Giraffe that Will Make You Laugh, she engages children in a book filled with rhyme and purpose. While the book is fun and entertaining, it is also a very educational book that enables the young reader to learn and be stretched in their learning experience. Cuthbert is a funny giraffe who looks a lot like a clown. He loves to make people laugh and is cheerful and friendly to all he’s around. He enjoys helping his fellow colleagues out when they are in need, even if the jokes are on him and he is extra funny. The crowd enjoys this adventurous clown/giraffe and finds him to be the life of the show; it’s as though you want to purchase tickets yourself and attend the show.

Illustrator Emma Matinca does a wonderful job of illustrating this story with pictures that look as if they are drawn with crayons. She uses great colors and vivid details to engage the reader in the story line. Between author Macs and illustrator Matinca, this is a wonderfully written and illustrated book which should be in every school library and would be a great read for parents and children. This is certainly a book that will make children laugh and point to this silly clown/giraffe named Cuthbert. Located at the end of the book are rhyming words that are used throughout the book, so parents/teachers could use this as learning tool to develop the reader.

The Giraffe That Will Make You Laugh by Mamma Macs is a great book for kids of preschool age. It is a fun little story about a giraffe that is a clown in the circus. He works with all different kinds of other people in the circus. He likes to make people laugh when he lands on the net after falling from the tightrope. He likes to do things that might make him scared because he has never done it before, just to make people laugh. He rides a unicycle while wearing clown pants. All of these crazy things to give people the time he believes that they deserve. Doing such things is his reason for being in the circus. Following the giraffe along while he is in the circus is a fun journey for young readers. While they are reading they will hear the delightful story and also learn different words that rhyme.

Reading this cute story to your child will help them learn to rhyme. Cleverly wrapped up in a neat little story that will entertain your child is a lesson that will help them into their entry to school. Even if your child isn't at the preschool age yet, it is a good bedtime story to read to them. It's also great for multiple uses for kids just learning to read. The pictures will keep your child interested in the story. From the clown pants on the giraffe to the giraffe in the cannon, your child will love The Giraffe That Will Make You Laugh.
