In The Girl Who Lost Her Voice by Adam T. Newman, Carlee finds out she has lost her voice one day when she wakes up. Her brother, Tyler, feels sad and it hurts him to see his sister upset. He comes up with the idea of retracing her steps to locate where she might have lost her voice. Then their father comes up with the thought that a frog has stolen her voice. He says that it put Carlee's voice in a bag and raced out of the door. The kids use their grandma's journal to guide them in tracking down the frog to see if they can get Carlee's voice back. Will Carlee be able to get her voice back?

The story is funny and imaginative and kids will be able to connect to it nicely. The illustrations are bright and colorful and they breathe life into the characters and scenes.
