Gabe comes to New York to pursue his dream of becoming a jazz musician. What he discovers instead is nothing short of extraordinary! Meeting Mr. Zeddiker and learning about his ancient coin changes Gabe’s life in ways he never could have imagined by opening his eyes to the miracles of faith. Mr. Zed shares an incredible story with Gabe in a first person narrative. Beginning with the appearance of biblical personages and moving through history to the Templar Knights and up to the present day, The Green Man by Mark D. Pendergrass captivatingly incorporates history, legend and conjecture into a believable story that leads Gabe to question the meaning of his life and the plans he had made for his future. Meeting the beautiful red-haired Shelly seems to be part of a larger plan, adding evidence to the fact that many events are pre-ordained. It is up to Gabe to decide if he believes what he has experienced: will he embrace the new feeling of a profound faith or will he dismiss the ramblings of an old man as just so many tales?

The Green Man by Mark D. Pendergrass is a magical story bringing biblical history and the subsequent spread of Christianity to life in an engaging, contemporary narrative. The reader is drawn into the story, almost as a participant, and two thousand years become a personal journey enabling a front row point of view. The writing is conversational and speaks directly to the reader, drawing him or her into the wonder of the tale. It is virtually impossible not to be deeply moved by the heartfelt message of Mr. Zed. This is a powerful story, well told and captivating.
