The Gus Gus Book by Paul Cooke Jr is the story of a family who wanted a dog and a dog who wanted a family. Kason, Myla, and Nolan were excited to get a puppy, and Nolan named him Gus Gus. He loved playing fetch and tug-o-war with the children and also enjoyed going on walks and exploring. Gus Gus was naughty at times, and Kason thought he should be trained. Gus Gus learned to sit and to stand, he learned to shake and to stay, and where to do his potty. He was no longer naughty once he was fully trained. The family loved Gus Gus and he loved them back, and this story of love will captivate young readers with its acts of love and kindness.

The Gus Gus Book is adorable and will bring a smile to the faces of readers, especially those who have a puppy at home and are experiencing what Kason, Myla, and Nolan were experiencing. The training session and the naughty acts of Gus Gus are so relatable to everyone who has a dog at home. The illustrations are delightful and charming, just like Gus Gus, and give a good pace and movement to the story. It is a good book to use for storytelling and read-aloud sessions in homes and classrooms and is also a good way to teach children the basic commands that can be used with dogs. They will also learn how to train dogs and what activities can be done with their dogs at home to keep them happy and active.

When our Gus Gus book arrived my 5 year old granddaughter Emery and I were so excited. We had preordered the book and anxiously awaited it’s arrival.
Emery could hardly contain herself. Me, I felt like a kid again.
Illustrations in the book come to life knowing this is a true story. The author PJ is my nephew.
I highly recommend this book, perhaps if you do not have a dog, this will inspire you to giving a deserving pup a forever home.

Well done PJ
Much love, Aunt Cindi
