When twenty-year-old Lillian gets an internship with Teen Life Magazine, she is more than thrilled to begin what she hopes is a successful job in journalism. Even though she was not that impressed with Teen Life, Lillian realized the cross country trip from California to New York City was the best plan for a foundation in her dream job. But, her confidence is on shaky ground when she finds herself seated next to David Beckham look-alike Jackson O’Callaghan, vocalist for the international sensation rock band, Worst of Times.
She should be thrilled, but she was not at all impressed with Mr. Brooding and Beautiful as a person. Even with Jackson’s dark good looks and his apparent love for classic literature, this man was anything but desirable. So, when their flight is grounded due to severe weather, Lillian shocks herself by accepting Jackson’s offer to rent a car and drive the remaining miles to their next airport destination. As she grits her teeth and prepares for a hellish adventure, no one is more surprised than she when Lillian betrays herself by reluctantly falling for the arrogant stranger. Even more surprising, her jaded rock star seems to reciprocate her feelings.
The Guy On My Flight by Steve Baker is a fast paced piece of reading entertainment. Baker effectively reflects the hidden emotions of a public icon while allowing his characters to demonstrate realistic qualities seldom imagined by the public bystander. Girls of all ages will enjoy this seductive short novel. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this!
