The Hairy Fairy is a fun story about a fairy and a boy named Jack. Author Mark Watson has written a silly, rhyming story of a hairy fairy that’s been cursed and must sit on the head of a boy for the day. Children who love the Black Lagoon Adventures books will enjoy reading the antics and mistakes made by the Hairy Fairy. He tries to help the young Boy Scouts for their jamboree by casting a spell, but it doesn’t work, and he ends up making things worse. Huge vegetables that attack shoppers turn a simple shopping trip into a scary thriller. Illustrator Doriano Strolago has created beautiful watercolor paintings outlined in thick and thin black strokes for The Hairy Fairy. His artwork cleverly portrays the zany and scary mishaps of the Hairy Fairy.

The Hairy Fairy is a hilarious picture book of craziness that children will enjoy. The Hairy Fairy has a magic wand that needs to be charged, so when he tries to do magic spells, they don’t turn out as he had planned. This thrilling adventure is sure to keep readers amused and wondering what will happen on the next page. How are they going to escape? Creating a portal to escape through is one solution.
