Can dystopia lead to utopia? Earth finds out in the year 2036, when an asteroid strikes between Hawaii and the mainland United States, plunging the world back into the early twentieth century. The devastating impact of this natural disaster quickly reduces the superpowers of the world, leading to the restructuring of government and society into a one-world system, governed from deep beneath the ice of the South Pole. The survivors, determined not to repeat the mistakes of the past, are committed to forming a New World Government that leads to an era of peace and prosperity that has never been known on the planet. It opens the door for communication with the Tresantarians, an alien species from thousands of light-years away who have determined that humanity is ready for contact with other alien races. But the Tresantarians have their own secret; one that links them to humanity and seals the fate of both races. The Homecoming by John Reizer is a fast-paced sci-fi thriller that will leave you guessing until the last page.

The Homecoming is an interesting and unique tale that gives a different view of our future. In it, John Reizer offers an eclectic cast of characters with a variety of viewpoints on the Tresantarians, first contact with an alien race, and what the unique gifts offered by the Tresantarians mean. Like all sci-fi stories, it explores the question of what it means to be human, and how much we’re really willing to embrace and accept things that are different. As humanity strives to trust this alien race, readers will find themselves questioning how they would respond to such an event, and what their level of trust is in both the government, those different from them, other people, and humanity. An excellent read if you’re looking for a good, quick tale with a great theme and intriguing questions to ponder about humanity.

Wow! I wasn't expecting this story to be so good. Frequency is a book that will keep you interested until the last page. I absolutely loved the premise, plot, and especially the ending.

Reizer's, The Homecoming is a fascinating read that takes an unorthodox look at alien first contact and how the world would react to such a scenario. Very cool book.
