The Lighthouse: Discovering Security in the Radiance of God's Character by Glenn Daman is an encouraging Christian devotional that examines and describes the nature and attributes of God. Daman explains that God’s steadfastness and never-changing nature can become an anchor for us in an increasingly volatile world. He explores how adversity can deepen our understanding and faith in God. The work expands on the promises in the Old and New Covenants and explains that God’s knowledge is personal and infinite. Through this knowledge, God uses circumstances to draw us to Him. It also discusses God’s goodness and advises how we should respond when we consider His holiness. The work delves into facts about the Bible and asserts that it is the foundation of all spiritual knowledge. It likens it to a lighthouse that guides us to safety during a storm.

Glenn Daman’s work is packed with useful insights and practical wisdom for navigating life’s challenges and learning more about God. Its language and discussions are straightforward and will be helpful to anyone who wants to deepen their relationship with Him. The messages in the book are relevant and uplifting, especially in our constantly changing and unstable world. I appreciated the work’s depth as it explores complex topics such as suffering, free will, God’s sovereignty, His judgment, patience, and love. I also loved that the evaluations are backed by scriptures. They are organized into digestible sections which are divided into twenty weeks with each day handling a specific aspect of the weekly topic. The Lighthouse is a timely, compelling work with sound discussions about God’s character. It offers hope during challenging and uncertain times.
