The Lottery Heiress by Angela Assanti is a romantic comedy. Megan Pagano has an amazing job and an even more amazing man. Then it all changes when she inherits money – a lot of money. She loses herself in a fast lifestyle of alcohol, flashy cars, and men who mean nothing to her, but she doesn’t understand why she isn’t happy. Surely being rich beyond compare should put a huge smile on her face! Suddenly thing change again when she stares death in the face. She decides she needs to change direction and fast, but just when she has her life how she wants it, she meets a movie star. Will he change her and send her spiraling downwards to her old ways again? Or is Megan Pagano stronger than we think?

The Lottery Heiress by Angela Assanti is a funny, fast paced novel that had me hooked right from the first page. Ms. Assanti clearly has a humorous side to her and that shows throughout the book; it had me chuckling in more than a few places. Megan Pagano is a character that you are immediately drawn to, and you find yourself being pulled very quickly into her life and her story. Being written in first person made it even more personal. This is a roller coaster read, with plenty of action, romance, and tears in places, and it will definitely leave you wanting to read more. The storyline was very cleverly thought out and runs a natural course. The character development leaves you feeling as though you know these people inside out, as if you were personal friends. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
