After tragedy strikes special agent Olivia Fox, she throws herself into her work, trying to get towards her retirement from the business, so she can focus on her dream of becoming a published author. Before she can do that though, she must finish one last case, one that has come back after being cold. It should be simple; go in, find evidence and get a confession and then get out. Next stop Fiji and then a remote cabin in the middle of nowhere. But when things don’t go according to plan and emotions get involved, will Olivia be able to complete her last assignment or will emotions tear her apart again? With twists and turns readers will not expect, The Mark of Cain, the first book in The Cain Trilogy by JP Barry will reveal all.

In The Mark of Cain, JP Barry spins a fascinating tale that has great character development and plot twists that really make you glad that you decided to pick this book to read. It first draws you in with an attractive cover piece and then keeps your focus with attention to detail when it comes to analyzing the characters. You are drawn in to feel what the characters are feeling and that is an accomplishment when it can be hard to elicit such strong emotions in such different areas of the spectrum. This book was a joy to read and really does well in making you not only want to read the next book in the trilogy, but to read more by this author as the writing style is very appealing and hook worthy. I would definitely recommend this book to those looking for a good read!
