The Mosaic by Chris Keaton and Rick Taubold is a spellbinding read. Twins Chloe and Zoe Tozier live with their grandma at her private museum, which has been converted from an old mansion. Zoe insists their grandma is hiding something from them and secret passages hidden within the mansion will prove her right. Chloe knows their grandma would never lie to them, but when they discover a hidden basement Chloe begins to question everything she's known. Suddenly nothing feels like a coincidence: their parents' deaths, their grandpa's disappearance, or the mysterious packages their grandma receives. An intriguing mosaic brings to life a magical world imprisoned inside, sparking the twins to discover their origins. They'll do whatever it takes to restore the mosaic before its magic falls into the hands of an evil witch.

While the two sisters are as different as night and day, they also balance each other out and ground each other. Chloe is cautious and studious while Zoe is brazen and blunt. Chloe takes the cautious approach, preferring to research and investigate, while her twin prefers the impulsive route and to dive head first into situations without really thinking the consequences through. Though they bicker like teenage sisters do and have constant conflicts, they're able to put aside their differences and work together. Even though the mosaic pulls them into magical new dangers, it also uncovers their own heritage and brings them closer together. Chris Keaton and Rick Taubold have created this stunning world, mixing together unique approaches to mythology and fairy tales with fun characters and quirky situations. You'll never know what to expect as the sisters meet a wide range of characters from a frog prince to fairies to dragons. It's a unique concept brilliantly brought to life as Keaton and Taubold capture the fun and the chaos of magic. The Mosaic mixes together the fun of mysteries, a magical journey, and fairy tales in this epic adventure.
