Author Biography

Ted Tayler was born in Corsham, Wiltshire in 1945 and moved to Melksham in 1950. He began singing with local bands in 1963 and managed to combine travelling around the country with holding down a job. His love of all types of music spans over fifty years.

Ted is now semi retired and lives with Lynne, his wife of over forty years. They have three children in their thirties and four grandchildren. His book of memories from those years singing with bands 'We'd Like to do a Number Now' (Aug 2011) sold moderately well and reunited the members of the last group he sang with. It also led to a reunion gig in November 2012.

His first novel 'The Final Straw' contained murders, music, sex and comedy and explores the dilemma - could YOU love a serial killer? 'The Final Straw' was voted 'Quality Reads UK - Best Book Ever' in September 2013 and Ted was inducted into the Orangeberry Book Tours Hall Of Fame.

A collection of 12 short stories 'A Sting In The Tale' was published in November 2013 and includes stories from different genres, all with a twist in the final pages.

'Unfinished Business' the sequel to 'The Final Straw' was published in March 2014 and it continues the story of Colin Bailey the stone cold killer as he returns to the UK with scores to settle.

The first book in a new series called ‘The Olympus Project’ will be published in December 2014 and features 'The Phoenix'. The stories cover the activities of a secret organisation which sends its operatives across the world removing anyone who poses a threat to political or economic stability.

Colin Bailey is a killer and, by all accounts, a super efficient, stone cold killer with almost 20 kills to his name. He has always been a meticulous planner; then one day everything changes when he is cornered and he fears his days are over. Suddenly, he is rescued from a watery grave by strangers, who have been watching him because of his particular skill set. In a short time he is brought into a secret organization named The Olympus Project. Their mission is to right past wrongs and protect the homeland by sending their agents across the world, removing anyone who poses a threat to political or economic stability.

After months of intense training, the new Colin, code name Phoenix, is ready to begin. His first two missions go off without a problem. While waiting for his next mission, he is given an assignment to shadow and protect one of the organization’s top leaders for a few days. Simple, right? But, things don’t always happen as planned. Colin has always been a loner and prefers to work alone, but now he must work with his new colleagues as a team to prevent a terrorist cell from carrying out a deadly attack in Central London.

I found The Olympus Project by Ted Tayler to be a well-designed and well-written story. The author has created a protagonist with a past that grabs and keeps the reader's interest. The author goes into great detail about each of the missions, which I found slowed the action slightly but not enough to matter. Overall, a good story.
