The Power Of Thanksgiving by Dr. Joyce Addo-Atuah shows how in today's world of materialism and the need for instant gratification, we can lose sight of the importance of being grateful for the 'little' things in life. This comprehensive look into the significance of living a life of gratitude will open your eyes to the benefits, not only spiritually but also psychologically and physically. Using passages from the scriptures and personal experiences, the author delves deep into the value of serving God and paying it forward to your loved ones, community, and the world. By understanding the importance of serving God, who is the epitome of goodness and kindness, you will realize the treasures he gives you on a daily basis that are free of charge. Explore how we can show our gratitude in times of adversity, or to those who seem cruel and unjust. Learn how to develop your skills at showing gratitude by recognizing and appreciating the gifts you receive and in turn enhance your well-being completely.

This beautifully written book will truly change your mindset on the power and importance of gratitude. I thought the way the author used not only scriptures but science, especially noting the work of Dr. Emmons, was so insightful. Emmons' ARC Model Of Gratitude proves the need for all of us to live a daily life of gratitude, and the huge benefits in doing so. We are shown how we can totally transform the substance of our lives by simply changing our mindset and our view of the world. The statistics regarding the benefits of being truly grateful, and giving to others with a clear motive of selflessness, were particularly inspiring. I am glad the author included scientific evidence and not just excerpts from the scriptures as I feel this gave real weight to her beliefs. This would make an excellent gift to anyone who would like to improve their lives on every level. A book to treasure and refer to in times of self-doubt or hardship.
