The Release: Collected Poems and other Works by Jeremy Anthony R. Davis is a collection of poems grouped under Poems, Spoken Word, and Prose. They explore diverse topics and themes relevant to the society we are living in. The poems are inspiring, honest, and rich in imagery. The poems vary in their style and presentation, making the read exciting. The poet's emotions, heart, and soul are laid open in this collection. There is so much richness in his words and so much is left to the reader to interpret in terms of meaning and conclusion.

It is a collection that I enjoyed reading because of the varied topics covered by the poet. The poems are simple, but provocative. Each poem has its own charm and they are deftly executed. The author has taken liberties when it comes to formatting a few poems. But the experimental style works well and it gives those poems more effect because of its presentation. 'Hail Africa' is a beautiful tribute to the poet's mother land. It is simple but speaks of the poet's yearning and love for his home land effectively.

'Henri's Henrietta' is an aesthetically visual piece well handled by the poet. Most of the love poems are tender and loving and the mood has been captured well by the poet. Some of the glimpses in his poems are rewarding and they are truly uplifting. The coherence and depth of thought in his poems make it a worthy read.
