With his life on the edge after losing his wife and daughter, a trying situation was the last thing freelance investigator Tempest Nesbit (alias Ten) wanted. However, after a breakout is reported in two far apart women’s prisons in Pennsylvania and Texas, Ten is obliged by his new employer to investigate the two cases with his colleague, Maria Tanner. Before the breakout, Ken, a high school computer programming student, had caught the FBI’s attention after hacking into their servers. Why did Ken hack into the FBI servers? Was Ken responsible for the reported bust-outs? Ten and Maria Tanner discover that there is a lot more than just the breakouts going on in the prisons. Will Ten and Maria be able to solve the case? Find out more in Terry Persun’s The Right Thing.

Terry Persun’s unique and enthralling style of writing had me hooked and flipping through page after page of this book. Enthusiasts of crime novels with spell-binding plot twists and a tone of mystery will love The Right Thing. Terry presents his narration by switching between the present and the past, while at the same time switching between scenes of his designated characters. His short and twisted sentences give his storyline a beautiful flow. His choice of words gives the plot a professional touch. His depictions of scenes and characters are impressively vivid and reading the book felt like watching a movie. He puts emotion into his words, making it easy to feel and connect with his wonderfully developed characters. I loved how Terry uses introspection, together with his engaging and intellectual conversations to juxtapose the complex traits of his characters. There are tension, suspense, secrets, scandals, and a lot more in Terry Persun’s The Right Thing.
