The Songs of My Family is a drama by Jillian Arena. Myra Jenkins' happy family life turns upside down when a tragic accident involving her - although not entirely her fault - leads to the death of a couple, leaving their children orphaned at a tender age. Blamed by everyone and coming from a recently broken marriage, Myra tries to make amends, only to be rebuffed by the eldest Garcia child, Emily. However, fate intervenes, and Myra finds herself fostering Emily and her two younger siblings, Carina and Marco, together with her own children, Ella and Samantha. But Myra doesn't realize the anger and resentment Emily has against her due to losing her parents. What will happen to the Garcia children and will Myra be able to win their hearts?

A story about compassion and making amends for past mistakes, The Songs of My Family is a riveting read that encourages you to see the silver lining amidst tragedy. Jillian Arena weaves a compelling family drama that follows a woman's attempts to rectify the result of the accident that almost brought her family to ruins. Arena's narrative is unflinchingly raw and grounded, and that, combined with her smooth writing style, makes the pages a breeze to go through. Every character has a relatable personality, with inner conflicts and turmoil that feel believable. Myra is an admirable woman whose relationship with the Garcia children forms the crux of the narrative. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and highly recommend it to readers who love realistic stories.

OMG! I have a new favorite author! I read "The Songs of My Family" yesterday in one sitting. I just couldn't put it down. I cried through the last two chapters, so I had to slow down there.

Jillian Arena is an amazing author! I don't know where she got the inspiration for this story, but it is outstanding. I love reading about strong, compassionate, loving women and she nailed it.

Anyone who can write a story like this, has to have a beautiful soul! Thank you for writing this book, it touched my heart. I hope there are more stories to come from this author!
