The Spectacular World of Waldorf: Mr. Waldorf Travels to Montana, Coloring Book is written by authors Barbara Terry and Beth Ann Stifflemire. This a children’s book that is also part of a series with three purposes: to educate young ones about some of the places in the United States, to entertain young readers, and on top of all of that it is a coloring book, which is ingenious in my mind. It runs thirty-two pages and the illustrations within will bring a number of smiles to your child’s face as well as your own. The story line itself revolves around Mr. Waldorf, a Labrador who, while venturing into the state of Montana, loses his reading glasses along his adventure. The tone of the book is perfect for the very young to the very young at heart.
When I first started reading The Spectacular World of Waldorf, I was truly delighted. It is my dream to some day visit Montana. Ever since I watched the movie “A River Runs Through It,” I have had my heart set on traveling there, so this was right up my alley. This is definitely a book that I wish I had had as a child growing up, especially since it’s so educational and because coloring was something that I spent a majority of my childhood doing. The book also reminded me of my first dog, and although she was a golden retriever, it still brought to mind wonderful memories while perusing the very animated depictions of Mr. Waldorf. This would be a lovely early Christmas present to give to little ones who are waiting in great anticipation of one of the fondest times of the year that we get to spend with our family and closest friends.
