The Sting of Death by M.A.N. is an urban fantasy with interesting characters and a good plot, a great story for readers who enjoy books featuring vigilante heroes and characters. Najeer Rankins is a man with a vision. He wants peace for the world, and this means he must find a way to stop the violence in the city. Known as the Ghost, he is an exceptionally gifted swordsman. He teams up with his childhood friend, Crane, to create the Killer Bee Gang (KBG), assembling like-minded people to work together and stamp out violence. As the KBG fights crime with violence, their turf expands, and they must suppress other gangs and face law enforcement. But a deadlier rival gang might just put an end to the KBG. Do they have what it takes to face the Gang Called Death?
The Sting of Death by M.A.N. felt like scenes from the Arrow series, with groups that are determined to protect their interests and annihilate any rivals. The Sting of Death features well-developed and memorable characters. The setting is a world that is fragmented, infested by crime, and deadly gangs. The author’s handling of conflict is good, and I enjoyed how rival groups pop up in the story, clashing with each other and seeking ways to gain more control. The characters are rock-solid, richly explored, and memorable. The plot is filled with action; it is intense, and it drives the story at a fast pace. The themes of martial arts, justice, the quest for power and control, teamwork, and friendship are skillfully developed. The author’s writing is stellar, and the descriptions are captivating. This is a novel for anyone looking for an action-packed urban fantasy with great characters.
