Top 20 Secrets Of Great Singers by Lane Cura Meng is a book for all aspiring singers, their mindsets and their methods. There are many talented singers out there today; and just as many who want to sing and try to sing, but they do not have the power or status performance to mesmerize the audience. The author of this book has over 30 years as a performing artist, music instructor, and vocal coach and is well trained in teaching vocal and music techniques. As she works with her students, the basic questions she asks first are: Why do you like the song you want to sing? Who is the main character in your song? Can you intensify the drama of the song and capture your audience? To be a great singer, one needs to know what there is about the song that will wow their listeners. This is what a great singer will tend to communicate as they sing. From teaching you how to choose your audience, to performance planning and preparation, to even becoming a great song writer, one will find it all here in this book.

There is so much contained in this book that it would be hard to mention it all here in this review. The main point of the book is that no matter what age or your background or how many people have told you that you cannot sing, do not give up on your dream. Find a good voice teacher and go from there. You may never make it as a great singer, but then again, you may have that special hidden talent that a great vocal instructor can pull out. If you have no desire to sing whatsoever, but would love to become a songwriter, this book also deals with that aspect of the music industry. There are parts that are repeated throughout the book, but they will be very helpful. As a long book, one may forget what they had read back in Chapter 1 or 2 when they get to Chapter 16 or 17. This is highly recommended for all who are interested in this type of music performance
