Author Biography

From childhood, Michael E.B. Maher has always known that the Lord's call was upon his life for the ministry. When he was saved at the age of twenty-two, almost immediately the Lord Jesus began to deal with him about entering the ministry. After a period, he left the ministry and went into the business world. Although he experienced success in the business world, he was outside of the Lord's will for his life. By 2010 the Lord's patience had run out, and Michael suffered his first series of heart attacks. By this time, Michael had become so worldly in his thinking that it never even occurred to him that the Lord had begun to judge him for his disobedience. But now the Lord started to unravel his career as well. Whereas before he had always excelled in his work, he now found himself completely dissatisfied with what he was doing. And so, at the height of his career he decided to take early retirement. It was during this time that his relationship with the Lord grew again. It was only now that the Lord finally got his attention and he committed to the Lord that he would finally answer the Lord's call to the ministry. And so, in 2014 Michael Maher Ministries was begun. From the beginning, the mandate given to Michael from the Lord Jesus was to preach the word. And so, this ministry preaches the word of God on every available platform around the world.

The Will of Man by Michael E.B. Maher is a well written book by a preacher describing his interpretation of some very deep biblical concepts such as salvation, God's free will, God's submissive will, and predestination. Maher gives well documented and confirming evidence from the Bible to support each point as he brings it up in the book. His writing is well thought out and researched. Many people are confused about the difference between free will and predestination and he gives his arguments on how these apply to man. Most people believe that these are contradictory and he gives well supported ideas behind each one. Scripture can be interpreted in many different ways and must be taken in context. This is difficult for many as they begin to work their way through the Word of God.

In The Will of Man, Maher gives a convincing argument to support his Calvinistic views. The Bible tells each Christian to "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” Although I do not agree with his interpretation of each of these concepts, I did enjoy reading his reasons behind each one. So much of religion has become a battleground and I don't believe that's what God intended. I believe we should each read and research and dig for answers. I appreciate his passion and his beliefs, although they are slightly different from mine. I believe that people who are digging for truth would enjoy this book and would enjoy comparing it to their own thoughts and interpretations.
