There She Lies by Michelle Young is a psychological thriller. We all have secrets, but we can't all keep them hidden - especially the big ones. The Millers have moved so William can take his dream job as a helicopter pilot, but Quinn feels a little isolated and has postpartum depression. She has the deepest feeling that she's been here before and flashes of something keep coming back to her. She turns to Mrs. Westover, her new neighbor, even though she knows little about her. Mrs. Westover hates liars with a passion, so what will happen when Quinn's lies come to light? This is a story of revenge that started before Mrs. Westover and Quinn ever met. It's a story of friendships gone wrong, of deep, dark secrets that push their way to the surface, and it will make you think hard - do you really know the people you are friends with?

There She Lies by Michelle Young is a nail-biting story, full of suspense and horror, a story covering some delicate subjects - death, child kidnapping, and suicide - and it covers them very well. This is a real page-turner but, be warned, it isn't always an easy read, given the subjects it deals with. It draws you in right from the first page, and the more your read, the more you want to read. It stealthily tightens its grip on you, unwilling to let you put the book down until you reach the end. And even then, it will make you think hard about the friends you choose. The characters are skillfully developed into relatable, likable people with real lives and the flaws we expect them to have. Full of action, the book is incredibly twisting, and it will keep you guessing all the way through. This is one of the most twisted psychological thrillers I have ever read, and I highly recommend it to fans of the genre.
